Kim made a bold move into Reformer Pilates - and never looked back.

After leaving a career as a hedge fund broker in 2012, Kim made a bold move into Reformer Pilates - and never looked back. Training with Balanced Body in 2013 under Dawne Likhodedova, she quickly went on to build and run a successful studio before founding The Kim Shipton Method. Since then, she has trained over 270 instructors worldwide, many of whom now run fully booked studios of their own.

Kim has collaborated with leading names in the Pilates world, including: Tiffany Burke (Dynamic Pilates TV, USA) and Nathan Ross-Reese (Australia). She has hosted international workshops, co-hosted an industry podcast (listen here), and continues to bring global expertise into every training she delivers. As a mum of three, Kim built her Pilates career around family life - and now helps others do the same.

"My philosophy and focus is to empower people to make real change and begin a lifestyle that can create freedom, flexibility, and financial independence."

A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRAINING specifically incorporating weights

This is about creating instructors who are confident, capable, and in demand.

"Once in the studio all the learning is in person and hands on. I don't believe you can learn to be a good instructor by looking at pictures online. You need to watch and understand how the body moves. We work in really small groups so that you can find your teaching voice without being overwhelmed and give you the confidence to make that first leap and start your practice hours."

- Kim's teaching style blends:

  • Classical Reformer Pilates

  • Dynamic, strength-based training

  • High-energy, results-driven programming
